There are undoubtedly different types of butterfly valves where each of the types are meant to cater to different pressures and serve distinctive purposes. Concentric Butterfly valves are a kind of valves that feature a strong and a robust rubber seat with a metallic disc. Double Eccentric Butterfly valves are also known as high performance butterfly valves and in preparing this type of valves different kinds of materials are used for both the disc and the seat. The third type of valve is called Triple Eccentric Butterfly Valves that are also known as Triple Offset Butterfly Valves and in this kind of valve the seats consists of metal or are laminated. In the first instance, the butterfly is designed in a manner that it maintains a seal against the bi-directional pressure to avoid backflow.
