Types of butterfly valve structural forms

Butterfly valve is a common industrial valve widely used in fluid transportation pipeline systems. According to the characteristics and uses of butterfly valves, they can be mainly classified into the following types based on their structural forms: midline butterfly valves. The midline of the valve body and disc of the midline butterfly valve is consistent, and the diameter of the valve body center is consistent with the diameter of the pipeline center. When fluid passes through, there will be no significant fluctuations or resistance, and it has lower pressure loss. This butterfly valve has a simple structure, light weight, and easy operation, and is widely used for fluid control under general working conditions.

In addition to the centerline butterfly valve, the main classification with different structures is the double eccentric butterfly valve. The valve disc of the double eccentric butterfly valve does not coincide with the centerline of the valve body, and there is also an eccentric shaft that deviates from the centerline. This structure can reduce the friction between the valve disc and the valve seat, improve sealing performance, and is suitable for high temperature, high pressure, and high-speed fluid control. There are also three eccentric butterfly valves in butterfly valve classification. The three eccentric butterfly valve adds the inclination angle of the valve disc on the basis of the double eccentric butterfly valve, so that the valve disc will not contact the valve seat when opening or closing, thereby reducing wear and sealing surface wear. Triple eccentric butterfly valves generally adopt multi-level seals, which are suitable for controlling high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive fluids.
